After a field trip to the desert, Lisa discovers that a desert flower makes aggressive scorpions get along. Grandpa Abe is kicked out of the retirement center and moves in with the Simpsons, where Homer uses a derivative of the flower Lisa made on him, making him much more docile. The chemical is turned into a drug by the head of a pharmaceutical company, but after Bart sells it in his own black market, there's an unexpected side effect.

So in a field trip to the desert we get a Coyote & Roadrunner parody, a Ralph quote, a Chalmers gag, and Lisa being attacked by scorpions, who seemingly calm down near a special flower. Grandpa is kicked out of the retirement home cause he is TOO cranky, and goes to live with the Simpsons. Homer thinks that if the flower made the scorpions nicer, it might also remove stains (and make Grandpa nicer). Bith of his theories work, and soon a pharmaecutical dude wants to create and test a drug based on the flower's effects. Grandpa is then reallty happy and everyone really likes him. Pharmaceutical dude tells Homer to not let anyone but Grandpa consume it. Bart goes around selling it to the crank geezers (Burns, Agnes, Crazy Cat Lady...) One day, Grampa's Eyes freaking pop out (why, it's gross and unnecessary, WHY?), and everyone Bart sol the drug too and the scorpions have their eyes popped out too. All the geezers want more drug, but pharmadude decides to remove the drug. Grandpa then tells every old dude to stop being happy and try and fix Homer's generation, and they all become cranky again.

Overall: It was going great, it was a really solid ep, until the eyes started poppin'. But the eye gags quickly faded so I'm able to get past on it. So good plot, great jokes, bad side-effect. 8.5/10.

Why Knight doesn't get more guest spots on sitcoms is beyond me. He's a fat old man, yet somehow was able to come off as a convincing player.

The Victoria and Susan feud was amusing as well. Hopefully we get another encounter in Season 3, or the second half of season 2.

The Melanie and Elka scenes were okay too, I suppose. Would like to see more scenes with the two of them, but under different circumstances.

Good enough episode though.

Okay, to be fair I did chuckle a few times during this half hour, and the storylines were not bad tonight, but The Big Bang Theory would be best not having two women arguably fighting over Leonard. The appeal of this character to fans (if there is any) is that he is a realistic portrayal of a lot of Americans. That would not make him like the realistic male.

Sheldon being stumped as I said was kind of clever, but I think they went too far with his reaction. He committed federal crimes and they called his mother? Really TBBT?
